Motrec International is a manufacturer of industrial electric vehicles with over 34 years of experience in the field. We are looking for a CAD Designer – Project Manager to join our engineering team in our plant located in Sherbrooke.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Reporting to the head of the engineering department, the Designer – Project Manager’s main responsibilities will be the design and production of the vehicles to be produced.

Role and responsibilities:
- Design and model the industrial vehicles to be built.
- Choose and integrate mechanical, electrical and hydraulic components that meet Motrec standards.
- Prepare and maintain the BOM of the vehicles to be produced.
- Produce drawings of manufactured components and prepare welding/painting/assembly instructions.
- Actively participate in the continuous improvement of the manufacturing and design processes of the vehicles.
- Prepare technical documentation for vehicles.
- Actively support the production team during the production launch of new vehicles.
- Document engineering changes that fall under his/her responsibility according to the engineering change process.
- Resolve manufacturing and assembly issues by implementing simple and effective solutions in vehicle design.
- Perform cost estimates for special vehicles and non-standard options.
- Work closely with the engineering team to improve and implement best practices.
The Engineering Department is responsible to develop designs and instructions for the manufacturing of our products, according to applying standards. The team also provides technical support to Sales Department, conducts inspection as well as R&D.

Requirements:
- Proficient in 3D design (Solid Edge or similar)
- Experience in industrial equipment design
- Mechanical skills
- ERP software knowledge (Genius or similar)
- Organizational and problem solving skills
- Collaborate with others as a part of a team
- Bilingual (French and English)

Qualifications:
- College Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
